'Novy Kosmopolit' later 'Lider'

It's the most popular in Massachusetts bi-monthly in Russian.
72 pages, letter size.
It came off the press in January 2004, resuming the publication of
the Boston Russian community magazine 'Kosmopolit'.
I did the new design for the restored magazine with the understanding
that its target audience is the intellectual elite of the Russian-speaking
community,
which underscored the importance of texts and dictated such design tricks
as
"hiding" the headings of articles and columns without using
the bold fonts,
making catch letters and footers "imperceptible", bringing into
focus leads and teasers,
making up pages in the traditional and restrained way…
Another challenge was to make the cover of this magazine
remarkably vivid, snazzy and eye-catching using only two colors, since
the budget of this edition is very limited.
