Today, Israel's very existence is being targeted by daily murderous terrorist attacks. Hundreds of innocent people, including many women, children and elderly, have been killed by homicide bombers in the recent months. Anti-Jewish attacks are on the rise around the world and have become a daily occurrence in Europe. These developments pain and concern us.
At the same time, some European academics have
called for a cultural and scientific boycott of Israel. We believe that
such a call is immoral, misguided and dangerous. We sincerely
hope that upon further reflection these scientists will understand the
dangers of their actions. In response, we the undersigned, call
upon all our colleagues to oppose the above boycott, which violates all
norms of human and scientific decency. We hope you will join us in furthering
the spirit of intellectual freedom by fostering and developing cultural
and scientific ties and collaborations with your colleagues from the State
of Israel.
This petition can be signed by scientists of any affiliations holding PhD or its equivalents (in Law, Medicine, Theology, etc).
Note: all signatories are signing in a personal capacity; institutional affiliations are given only for identification purposes
